A question to the poets out there

I’m thinking about submitting some poems to various poetry sites. Most say the work has to be “unpublished.” I’m assuming that means I can’t have posted it on my own website. Is that true? Please respond in comments if you know.

  1. I consider unpublished to mean that it has been run through the traditional paper publishing method (either by a publishing company or by self-publishing) and is copyrighted by the publisher. right or wrong, that is what I think. -g
