Flew cross-country yesterday, arriving in Seattle at dinner time. After several wonderful West Coast beers and a burger, my East coast biorhythms took hold: “It’s almost 11 p.m., nimrod! Go to sleep!” I did just that, totally forgetting the poem at all. At least there are “four.”

Act like you've been here

You Could Have Walked
She pumps her arm up,

Meaningless Schedules
Late again leaving
gate. When all flights arrive late
Aren't they all on time?

You’ve captured a day of travel perfectly with these! My biggest pet peeve, okay I have two, is not using headphones (excuse, me…just rude) and pushing to be the first to board the plane in their group like we don’t have assigned seats. I get it, luggage bins, but have a little decorum and restraint. My goodness, we may be sitting next to you and it’s going to be awkward after you push me aside to be on the plane twenty seconds before me.
That’s so funny! I’ve flown Southwest Air almost exclusively since my cross-country consulting began ten years ago. SWA just went to assigned seats. I’ve mixed feelings. There never was anyone trying to get ahead of anyone with the old method because you each had a place in line. Then again, there was some agitation when I would get on the plane quickly (frequent flyer, so I was at the front of the non-business preferred), but my wife would board 25-30 places in back of me. Would she have bin space? It always worked out, but several times it was touch and go.
