After visiting ‘Akaka Falls, we drove northward (which actually is northwestward) along the coast until we came to Waimea where we admired true free-range chickens and had lunch. I marveled at how dry it had become. The fields as we approached were pastures with cattle at times. Upon our return to Hilo, a day’s-end beer and sunset awaited us.
At the risk of being trite, I like this photo too. Thing I’m getting more appreciative with more age. Backwards me.
I publish sunrises/sunsets despite feeling I’ve created little. There’s nothing wrong (in my world) with relaying a beautiful sight that others didn’t see. I’m not seeking High Art. I’m seeking to make well-balanced, intriguing photos. This probably results from or explains my earliest career in journalism. Most of my creativity actually occurs in the “darkroom” of the photo editing process.
